What To Wear
Light casual clothes is recommended. Formal dress code may be required for some city destinations and business meetings. It is advisable to check beforehand on dress regulations.
Common Courtesies
Handshaking is a customary greeting in Indonesia. Avoid using your left hand for handshakes or when giving and receiving anything.
Scanty clothing is not advisable. Shorts are not allowed in religious places. It is disrespectful to climb over monuments or places of worship. In Bali, waist sashes should be worn when visiting temples.
