Ratnapura Day Tour  

This tour goes southeast via Avissawella to Ratnapura; see Adams Peak (in the distance) - a 2,243m mountain venerated by Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims. After lunch, visit one of the famous gem mines of Ratnapura. Gems such as the Blue, Star and Yellow Sapphires, Cat's Eyes, Rubies, Alexandrites, Amethysts, Zircons, Topaz and Tourmalines are found here. There will be an opportunity to watch a gem cutter and polisher at work. The last stop is at a lapidary. Tour includes lunch in Ratnapura.
