Cambodia
Experience the charms of Cambodia's bustling but attractive capital, nestled at the confluence of four major rivers. There is an excellent range of accommodation and dining in this sophisticated city, as well as a number of important sights to see. The royal palace and silver pagoda are home to an extraordinarily fine collection of ornamental Buddhas, while the national museum houses an incredible collection of Angkorian stonework, as well as important items from the pre-Angkorian and post-Angkorian periods.
The fabled temples of Angkor, constructed between the 9th and 13th centuries when the Khmer empire was at the peak of its creativity, represent one of humankind's most magnificent architectural achievements. Of the countless temples in the area, Angkor Wat stands unrivalled in its magnificence. It is one of the main reasons people come to Cambodia.
