Getting Around
Modern and local transport modes are available including the skytrain and underground systems.

Climate
The hot and dry season starts from February to May with an average temperature of 34oC. The rainy season begins from June to October with an average temperature of 29oC. The cool season commences from November to January with an average temperature of 20oC - 32oC.

Language
English with Thai is the main medium of communication.

What To Wear
Light cool clothes are suitable but formal wear is required for some establishments. Shorts above knee length, sleeveless shirts, tank tops are only appropriate at the beach or resort areas.

Electricity
The electrical current is 220 volts AC, 50 cycles per second. Bring a plug adapter kit as many types of plugs and sockets are used.

Common Courtesies
It is important to show respect for the Thai Royal Family. Revealing attire are not allowed in all religious shrines. Shoes are allowed in a Buddhist Temple except when inside the chapel. Do not climb over or sit on Buddha monuments. Do not touch or give anything directly to a Buddhist monk if you are a woman. Thais greet each other by pressing their palms together called 'wai'. It is rude to touch people on their head or to point your feet at people or an object.

Drinking Water
Bottled mineral water is recommended for consumption.

Passport Information
Valid passport required by all. Passport should be valid for at least six months even for those in transit to neighbouring countries. Return ticket required. Requirements may change at short notice. Contact the Embassy before departure.

Visa And Entry Facilities
Generally, overseas visitors are required to apply for a visa with a valid passport or travel documents. It is recommended to contact the Embassy or your tour agent regarding visa applications and requirements before leaving your country.

Banking
Operating time of banks vary from different locations. Do check with the intended bank upon arrival in Thailand.

Thai Currency
The Thai unit of currency is the Baht and 1 Baht is divided into 100 Satang. The Thai Baht are in denominations of THB20, THB50, THB100, THB500 and THB1,000. Coins are in denominations of 25 Satang, 50 Satang, 1 Baht, 2 Baht, 5 Baht and 10 Baht.
