DAY 1: Arrive Beijing

On arrival in Beijing, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel of your choice.

DAY 2: BEIJING – Full Day City Sightseeing

The day starts with a visit to the Temple of Heaven. This is the largest complex of ancient religious buildings in China and was a place of great importance to the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The temple complex and its surroundings are now a popular park and are busy in the mornings as the locals gather to practice Tai Chi, play cards and enjoy dance routines. This will be followed by a visit to Tiananmen Square, located in the heart of Beijing, it is one of the largest public squares in the world. From Tiananmen Square enter the Forbidden City, the Imperial Palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Now known as the Palace Museum it is the world’s largest palace complex, covers an area of 74 hectares and houses numerous rare treasures and curiosities. Afterward, meet up with a local family to learn how to make dumplings and enjoy them for lunch.


After lunch visits the hutongs by rickshaw. The hutongs are the small alleyways which run between the traditional courtyard residences. Weave through the hutongs and soak in the atmosphere of the neighborhood near the old Drum Tower.

DAY 3: BEIJING – The Great Wall

Take a visit to the Great Wall of China. This is the pride of China and also one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This amazing man-made structure was built over 2000 years ago to protect China from northern invaders. After climbing the Great Wall, head to the 2008 Beijing Olympic venues of the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube for a photo stop.


Morning at leisure, transfer from your hotel to the airport for a flight to Xian. On arrival in Xian, transfer to the hotel of your choice. In the evening, enjoy a colourful evening of entertainment and dinner at the Tang Dynasty.

DAY 5: XIAN – Terracotta Warriors

In the morning, you will explore the Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Discovered in 1974, the Terracotta Army is the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th Century. After lunch, visit the Banpo Museum. Dating back about 6000 years, this museum is the site of the Banpo ruins. The ruins were unearthed in 1953 and the remains of a Neolithic village were discovered.

DAY 6: XIAN – City Sightseeing – SHANGHAI

Start the city tour with a visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Seen as an architectural masterpiece of Buddhism of China, it is a well -known historic site and a landmark of the city. Tour will then proceed to the Grand Mosque, the largest mosque in China. An active place of worship within Xi’an Muslim Quarter, this courtyard complex is a popular tourist site. Tour will end at the famous Drum Tower, the symbol of Xian.


Transfer to the train station to take the high-speed train from Xian to Shanghai. Arrive in Shanghai in the evening and transfer to the hotel of your choice.

DAY 7: SHANGHAI – City Sightseeing

Spend the day exploring the city of Shanghai. Start with a visit to the Jade Buddha Temple which houses one sitting and one reclining Buddha, both of which are carved from whole white jade. You will then visit the popular Yu Garden, a classical Chinese garden with dragon-lined walls separating various garden areas and pavilions. After lunch, continue exploring at Tianzifang, an old residential area which has been revitalized to trendy shopping outlets.

DAY 8: SHANGHAI – Zhuijiajiao – The Bund

In the morning visit the water town of Zhujiajiao, located in the western suburbs of Shanghai.


Founded almost 1700 years ago, Zhuijiajiao has many ancient buildings lining the banks of the rivers and more than 30 old bridges adding to the beauty of the town. Take a relaxing boat ride along the waterways to enjoy the views of this ancient water town.
Return to downtown and visit a local family for a taste of the local Chinese culture. You can learn some simple Chinese calligraphy and enjoy a traditional Chinese tea demonstration. Finish the day with a visit to the Bund and its surrounding area and enjoy a walking tour which showcases the world’s architecture of historical Shanghai.
