Welcome to Hong Kong / China

Discover the diversity and sophistication that is Hong Kong. Hong Kong interweaves well the culture from the West and the traditions of the East. From iconic skyscrapers surrounding a colonial heritage building to Chinese style junks sailing alongside cruise liners in Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong offers the best of both worlds. Renowned as a gourmet capital Hong Kong offers an abundance of food choices from unique street foods to Michelin starred cuisine.

FEB - Chinese New Year

The city’s biggest and most colourful festival. Soak up the energy as you browse the festive markets, selling auspicious foods and blooms and enjoy the celebrations at the Chinese New Year Parade and spectacular fireworks display over the harbour.

MAR - Hong Kong Arts Month

An annual event where local and overseas artists converge to bring about inspiring programmes including exhibitions, dance, music, theatre and more.

MAY - Cheung Chau Bun Festival

This unique festival is dedicated to the god Pak Tai who, in the legend, drove away an epidemic and evil spirits which plagued the island. The weeklong event, which coincides with the Buddha’s Birthday, includes various activities including Taoist rituals, a parade, and the exciting Bun Scrambling Competition.

JUN - Tuen Ng Festival

Better known as the Dragon boat Festival, this festival commemorates Qu Yuan a Chinese national hero who drowned himself in a protest against corrupt rulers. To scare the fish from eating his body the local townspeople beat drums and threw glutinous rice dumplings into the water. Nowadays, communities across Hong Kong celebrate this festival with locally organized dragon boat races.

SEP - Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival in Hong Kong is a modern celebration of a centuries-old harvest ritual, associated with moon cakes, colourful lanterns, and fiery dragons.

OCT - Hong Kong Wine and Dine

This festival brings together world-class food, drinks, and entertainment right next to the stunning Victoria Harbour skyline. There will be well over 400 booths featuring everything from single malts to craft beer to keep your palate refreshed.
