SIEM REAP
4 DAYS & 3 NIGHTS

DAY 1: WELCOME TO SIEM REAP

On arrival at Siem Reap airport, our guide will meet you at the exit gate, and he and the driver will assist you with your luggage before heading to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time you may decide to add an additional tour at this point.

SIEM REAP
‘Siem Reap is located in northwest Cambodia and is the closest city to the world famous, must see, temples of Angkor. The provincial capital is also called Siem Reap and is located in the South of the province on the shores of the Tonle Sap Lake, the greatest sweet water reserve in whole Southeast Asia. It’s a laid-back, lovely place to stay while touring the temples and offers the best of both worlds between observing Cambodian life and enjoying the amenities of modern services and entertainment. Although the Temples are the main ‘draw’ in this area there is much more to experience by traveling a little further in this region.’

DAY 2: SIEM REAP

Following breakfast at your hotel this morning, you will visit the ‘main event’ the magnificent Angkor Wat Temple. Built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, Angkor Wat was constructed to represent Mount Meru, the Hindu/Buddhist home of the gods. Inside the temple, the walls are covered with stone carvings, bas‐reliefs. It is quite breathtaking…so take your time for photographs and viewings. then onwards to Bayon temple which is unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara.

This afternoon, you will visit the Angkor Silk Farm, a beautiful site housing many silk workshops and employing locals, which is located 16Km from Siem Reap. It is an outstanding exhibition center showing the entire silk processes and end product. Next, it is on to WAT THMEI memorial there are over 18,000 killing fields within Cambodia and not just the killing fields of Choeung Ek near Phnom Penh that most people know of. This one in Siem Reap is a small memorial stupa which contains the skulls and bones of victims killed during the regime of the Khmer Rouge during 1975 – 1979. And finally, the last stop of the day is The Old Market and it really is the oldest Khmer market in Siem Reap, where locals shop for fresh produce and household items in the early morning. Also known as Phsar Chas, you can also find vendors selling inexpensive souvenirs such as clothes, jewelry, and shoes, most of which are located nearby the market entrance.
