Bird Paradise is the newest and largest of Singapore's Mandai Wildlife Reserve parks, opened on 8 May 2023 to replace the former Jurong Bird Park, and now the largest bird park in Asia. Designed by Singapore firm RSP Architects Planners and Engineers, the 17-hectare park houses 3,500 birds from 400 avian species — of which 24% are threatened — across eight walk-through aviaries and an Ocean Network Express Penguin Cove.
A visit runs 3 to 4 hours across the eight aviary biomes, from African forested valleys to Australian outback, Southeast Asian rainforest, and South American wetlands. Scheduled feeding sessions, keeper talks, and the Wings of the World show at the 2,000-seater Sky Amphitheatre give the day its rhythm, with a complimentary in-park shuttle available for guests who need to cover ground between zones.
Highlights
- Eight Walk-Through Aviaries: Eight themed aviaries recreate global biomes: Crimson Wetlands (Latin American wetland with flamingos and scarlet ibises), Nyungwe Forest Heart of Africa (80+ African species with suspension bridges), Australian Outback, Wings of Asia, Songs of the Forest, Mysterious Papua, Kuok Group Wings of Asia, and Winged Sanctuary.
- Ocean Network Express Penguin Cove: A state-of-the-art cold-climate penguin habitat home to King Penguins and other Antarctic and sub-Antarctic species. Guests can watch penguins dive and interact through underwater viewing panels, or upgrade to the behind-the-scenes VIP tour to meet the keepers directly.
- Wings of the World at Sky Amphitheatre: The 2,000-seater Sky Amphitheatre hosts the Wings of the World presentation, featuring free-flight demonstrations by raptors, parrots, and waterbirds alongside their trainers. Scheduled feedings for starlings, pelicans, lories and lorikeets, and cassowaries run through the day at specific times.
- VIP Bird Discovery Tour Upgrade: The park offers a VIP Bird Discovery Tour with a wildlife guide walking small groups through the aviaries. A Crimson Set Lunch upgrade pairs park admission with lunch overlooking the flamingo lake, and multi-park combos bundle Bird Paradise with the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, and Rainforest Wild Asia.
