Nightout Chinatown & Little India

Chinatown has come a long way since the early days when Chinese immigrants made this enclave their home. Filled with a sprawling myriad of shops and eateries, bustling with colorful and exciting activities set against a backdrop of rich history and heritage, Chinatown is not to be missed—especially in the evening when everything really comes alive. Wander along the narrow lanes of the Night Market and test your bargaining skills against street vendors selling anything from souvenirs to leather goods.

After dinner at a local Chinese restaurant, we will head to Clarke Quay and embark on a bumboat or a cruise along the Singapore River to witness the illuminated beauty of Singapore at night. The journey will showcase the charmingly restored shophouses, modern skyscrapers of the financial district, colonial buildings, the iconic Merlion statue, and the mesmerizing light and water display of Marina Bay Sands.

Thereafter, we will descend to the bustling streets of Little India, commencing our journey at Sri Veerakaliamman Temple for a brief review of its history. Just across the road is Komala Villas, the first home-grown vegetarian restaurant. A short walk to Upper Dickinson Road will offer insights into the Indian Murals, followed by observing locals crafting jasmine garlands and wrist garlands at Campbell Lane. We'll make a stop at Selvi's to witness traditional Mehndi Henna tattoos for both men and women. Our final destination for the night will be the highlight: savoring a scrumptious dessert at Apollo Village (Hastings Road).
