Rescue Meal Initiative Program & Community Visit

Every year, hotels, restaurants, retailers, and food manufacturers face the challenge of surplus ingredients! perfectly good

produce, meats, and packaged goods that go unused and are often discarded. Instead of contributing to unnecessary waste, these

surplus ingredients can be transformed into a valuable resource.

The environmental impact of such waste is significant, draining resources and increasing carbon emissions. But what if these

surplus ingredients could be repurposed to fight hunger? We gather surplus ingredients, turn them into nutritious meals, and

distribute them to local communities in need.

One such community supported by this program is the Suwung landfill, where families live in the midst of piles of waste, struggling

to survive amid toxic fumes and hazardous conditions. For many, their daily lives are spent scavenging through the trash to find

what little they can use to get by. These families often build their homes in close proximity to the heaps of garbage, facing constant

health risks while being trapped in poverty.

By repurposing surplus food to create nourishing meals and sharing them with these resilient individuals, we can help reduce food

waste and provide much-needed support to the Suwung community, offering them hope and a step toward a better future.
