The Datai Langkawi is one of the most awarded resorts in Southeast Asia, set within one of the world’s oldest rainforests and along the pristine sands of Datai Bay. Biophilic architecture by Kerry Hill and Didier Lefort, with renovations by M. Lefort, was designed to foster a close connection to nature.
Accommodation is organised across The Canopy Collection, The Rainforest Collection, and The Beach Collection, while The Nature Centre connects guests with resident naturalists and marine biologists for explorations.

Practices include zero waste to the landfill, a ban on single-use plastics, and recycling and upcycling schemes with the local community. The Datai Pledge, a Private Trust initiated in 2019, supports conservation and sustainability across Langkawi.

The resort offers 121 rooms, suites and villas, organised across The Canopy Collection, The Rainforest Collection, and The Beach Collection. Beach villas feature a private pool and a dedicated butler, while The Datai Estate Villa is 3,500 sqm with two pools, two living and dining rooms, plus a private butler and chef. |
Pools and well-being
Adult, Family and Toddler Pools support swim time and family stays. The Health Club includes a Gym, sauna, steam room, and the Holistic Pavilion hosts daily yoga, pilates and other exercises. The Spa overlooks a gentle stream in the midst of the rainforest, with Ramuan rituals including Mandi Embun (forest healing). |
Dining and bars
Dining spans 5 venues: The Gulai House, The Pavilion, The Dining Room, The Beach Club, and The Lobby Lounge. Malaysian at The Gulai House in a Malay kampung house, Thai at The Pavilion 30 metres high up in the treetops, and The Dining Room overlooking the main pool. The Beach Club and The Lobby Lounge complete the set.

HOTEL FACTS
The Nature Centre includes a library and the Coral Nursery, and hosts resident naturalists and marine biologists. Meetings include a 108-square metre meeting room with a pre-function foyer and a separate VIP room, plus a 50 square metre boardroom on the lobby level. Airport transfers are 40 minutes / 30km.
